Mail Art IN - USA, Jay Block

These guys remind me of Don Camillo!
The combination with the torn paper makes it a bit spooky, me thinks.
Don Camillo is an Italian priest who was always fighting with the communist mayor Peppone.
An old series I would really recommend for watching.
Jay's collection of vintage and modern stamps must be grand.
In the Netherlands we have one set to choose from...

Thank you, Jay

Mail Art IN - France, Richard Baudet

First Mail Art from Richard Baudet, who lives in the city where
Iceland beat England ;)
Crisp calligraphy and a thank you for the postman.
Special stamp on the back, certifying Richard's Mail Art is 100% handmade.
"Mail Art can't be a secret"
Wise words... in beautiful handwriting.
Included is an assignment to make something for
fellow Mail Artist Heleen.
What or whom is she staring at?
Who knows. To be continued.

Thank you, Richard

Mail Art IN - Greece, Momkat

Lovely blues from Greece.
The sea looks even more blue-ish
with the blue card.
Must be very hot now in Greece but Momkat
still finds time to make Mail Art.
Also the back of the card is full of
Mail Art thing-ies.

Thank you, Momkat

Mail Art IN - USA, Richard C.

 Acrobatics with hands and fingers.
Or is it poetry?
Richard found a batch of unprocessed postcards,
maybe 20 years old.
What a lovely find.
This little fellow looks familiar.
I think I saw him on a leave of stamps.

Thank you, Richard

Mail Art IN - Germany, Dorina Harangus

Collage Mail Art in autumn colours, me thinks.
Dorina wishes me a very nice spring.
Under the French text that is cleverly adjusted to the Mail Art it says in German:
Ab in den Frühling!

Thank you, Dorina

Mail Art IN - USA, Linda French

Oops... this one was hidden in a stack of paper and magazines.
It was sent this year when Spring was starting to resurface.

The little creatures makes the perspective come out even better, me thinks.
It's Vezelay, France.

Thank you, Linda

Mail Art IN - USA, Lucky Pierre

 Wooooo, big envelop.
 TOP SECRET it says...
This is so kind!
Lucky Pierre made grand stamps for Richard C's 75st birthday.
And the top secret? Well, I can reveil it now.
It's a request to send Richard some Mail Art for his birthday.
I'm so curious what other Mail Artist made with the stamps ;)

Grand idea, Lucky Pierre.
Thank you.

Mail Art IN - United Kingdom, MailArt Martha

 From MailArt Martha, neutral envelop.
It contains a bookie that tells a story about horses and apples and enjoying the moment.
And how somebody's decision can suddenly end a friendship.
MailMartha's website is gone also.
The bookie is very beautifully done.
... And that was that...
so no sequense to this story.

Thank you, MailArt Martha

First piece of Mail Art from Alana Schlotter.
Another Mail Artist who enjoys making patterns, I guess/hope.
This dessin is made with stamps and paint.
Hope this will be the start of a lot of exchanges.

Thank you, Alana

Money, slim fit underwear from long time ago and and and...
postage stamps with Queen Juliana's (from the Netherlands) head on it.

What a lovely surprise to see Juul again on these violet stamps.

Thank you, Mars

Mail Art IN - Greece/Sweden, Henry Denander

A thick envelop arrived from Greece which made me ever so curious about the content.
Inside a bookie, a postcard and an original watercolour.

While being in Greece for three weeks in 2010,
Henry first didn't touch his painting gear (how familiar that sounds).
Only the last two days he suddenly started to make abstract forms and figures.

This self-produced, signed, little book (#111) is full of stunning studies.
They look awesome and are very inspiring.

Thank you, Henry
