Mail Art OUT - United Kingdom

In april 2016 StripyGoose and me had a Mail Art Meetup
in the Natural History Museum, London.
What a beautiful building.
A showing case with lots of birdies caught our eyes.

Mail Art IN - Greece/Sweden, Henry Denander

A thick envelop arrived from Greece which made me ever so curious about the content.
Inside a bookie, a postcard and an original watercolour.

While being in Greece for three weeks in 2010,
Henry first didn't touch his painting gear (how familiar that sounds).
Only the last two days he suddenly started to make abstract forms and figures.

This self-produced, signed, little book (#111) is full of stunning studies.
They look awesome and are very inspiring.

Thank you, Henry

Mail Art IN - UK, StripyGoose's Grand Bird Migration

Hurra, yesterday a flock of flamingo birdies
has landed in Amsterdam.
What an honour to receive one of the 365 (!) MailArt items
StripyGoose has made and sent for her special project.

May 14th 2016 was International Migratory Bird Day
and Stripy in advance made 365 pieces with birdies.
She posted them on the 14th in a grand Victorian red postbox,
accompanied by other MailArtist.

On Stripy's blog you can see all the pieces
and track whether the birdies have landed.
What a grand idea.

Let's see how many Mail Artist have the kindness
to let Stripy know a birdy has landed.
(What a relieve nowadays stamps have a sticky back ;)

Thank you, StripyGoose

Mail Art IN - Morocco, E.V.A.

E.V.A. sends a piece of a chocolate box.
How original!
The designer of the purple box might be a fan of Mail Art as well.
Looks indeed a bit like a stamp or postcard.

Thank you, E.V.A.

Mail Art IN - USA, TofuArt

Could it be Tofu uses to similar postcards to get this effect?
Looks 3D and if you look for a while, it moves a bit.

Thank you, Tofu

Norico in Japan Paper with special postmark, februari 29 2016.
(Just to give an idea how for behind I am with blogging...)
Consequently I also missed the invitation to participate in a gallery in Thessaloniki, Greece.
Next time, I hope.

Mail Art IN - USA, Keith Chambers

This looks like a translation by a computer ;)
It says that Fluxus does not make calculations.
Which is gobbledygook to me anyway.
With message attached that something went wrong with the delivery. Also weird.

Thank you, Keith
